Grisdale Auto Sales President Bill Grisdale is a pillar in his community. He continues to run multiple businesses at his Brock Road location, and he somehow finds time to work with community organizations as well.
Bill enjoyed moderate success racing off road trucks in the 1970s. Like most fierce competitors, Bill and his friend and mechanic Harry Plastow sought speed anywhere they could. They knew that lighter means faster, so weight shed from their truck would bring faster acceleration and higher top speeds.
They determined that using lightweight fibreglass instead of the heavy steel truck body would save a great deal of weight, and they were right. They found a manufacturer in California capable of serving their needs, but the company was swamped with work. There was also the small matter of exchange rates, shipping, and customs brokers making the idea prohibitively expensive.
